Star Ratings

Star ratings are designated by the respective State Motoring Organizations and provide a relative measure of the standard of accommodation and service within each category. Different criteria are used to assess different types of accommodation.

Generally, one star properties indicate a basic standard of accommodation with simple facilities and furnishings.

At the other end of the scale, five-star properties indicate a superior international standard of accommodation with an extensive range of facilities and services.

The rating system does not cover all establishments available, and an establishment that is not rated is not necessarily inferior.
